Dream Game Play
Red to Gold
The goal of the game is to surround the red Akuma card with an array of all four major characters, each of them complete with all four of their character qualities. All players work together to accomplish this goal. When that has been accomplished, the player managing the Kurai character flips over the red Akuma card to reveal the gold version of Akuma, which completes the quest and concludes the game.

Game action
The cards are sorted into three groups, character cards, demon cards, and a single goal card, which is the card with red Akuma on one side and gold Aluma on the other. The Akuma card is placed in the center of the playing space with the red Akuma side facing up.
Players choose to represent one or more characters from the four choices: Kurai, Rin, Hiroshi and Reina. For example, four players each choose a player. Two players choose two players each. With three players, one player must represent two characters.
To start play, the youngest player flips a coin or throws one die. Heads means yes and tails means no. If using a die, an even number is yes and odd means no.
A yes means that the player draws a card from the character pile. If it is one of the characters represented by that player, the card is placed next to red Akuma. If it is not one of that players characters, the player stores the card, hoping to transfer it to the appropriate player when you gain that ability.
A no means drawing a card from the demon pile. Results are as follows:
- Baby demon – no effect on your card array but you can give one of your stored cards to the player representing that character (if you have any)
- Demon – loss of one character card (player’s choice)
- Major demon – loss of two characters cards or one superpower card
- Akuma – loss of three character cards or one character card and one superpower card (player’s choice).
- Archangel – You can save this card to protect against demonic effects in future rounds. It neutralizes the effect of a demon or major demon and cuts the effect of the Akuma card down to either two character cards or a single superpower card (player’s choice). You can also use this card to transfer two stored character cards to another player.
After demon cards are drawn they go in a discard pile until the main demon stack runs out, at which time the discard pile is shuffled and then it becomes the new demon stack.
At the beginning of the game you may not have many character cards, and if you don’t have enough cards to fulfill the loss incurred by a demon card, the demon card either affects what character cards you do have or it simply has no effect (if you don’t have enough), and is placed in the discard pile.
The point of game play is to gather and keep all of your character cards and collaborate with your fellow players to help them build up their character card array, and eventually convert Akuma to gold.
